      Surtronic Duo Surface Roughness Tester

Handheld, Digital Surface Roughness Measurement Tester

The surface roughness tester Surtronic Duo II handheld, portable roughness meter is widely used for shop floor, industrial & inspection room applications. The Surtronic Duo II roughness tester can be used to assess flooring safety and for flooring manufacturers to control roughness in their manufacturing processes.

It is reliable, durable, fast and easy to use and requires very little training. The Surtronic Duo II digital surface roughness tester is designed to measure the surface roughness can be utilised in conjunction with the HSE Slips assessment tool software to check flooring surface roughness. Surtronic surface roughness gauge resolution is 0.01 µm (0.4 µin), roughness standards ISO 4287.

It measures roughness instantly at the touch of a button and is available with 9 parameters: Ra, Rz, Rt, Rp, Rv, Rz1max, Rku, Rq, Rsk. The roughness parameters are according to ISO 4287. ISO 4287 (Roughness) Ra, Rz, Rp, Rv, Rt, Rz1max, Rsk, Rq, Rku, and ISO 4287 (Primary) Pa, Pz, Pp, Pv, Pt.

Display – the control unit is removable and communicates with the measurement unit via Bluetooth.

The rugosimeter has an internal rechargeable battery (Li-Poly); over 10,000 measurements on a single charge. Recharging is via a mini-USB charger (included).

      Fast and reliable

      • The hard-wearing diamond stylus is drawn across the part with a precision motorised traverse mechanism to ensure that the correct horizontal distance is travelled. Vertical movement of the stylus is detected by a high quality piezo-electric pick-up as it travels across peaks and valleys which converts mechanical movement into electrical signals.
      • The electrical signal is digitised and sent to a microprocessor for instant calculation of surface parameters using standardized algorithms.

      Applications includes

      • Process control – Grinding, milling, turning, honing, polishing and extrusion
      • Heavy industry – Shipbuilding, pipelines, sheet steel
      • Aerospace – Turbine blades, turbine shafts and wing composites
      • Other – Print rollers, flooring, bonding and glass.
