Until a few years ago, laser marking on unfinished components, which had just come out of a die, was unattainable due to the quality degradation caused by subsequent treatments, in particular since as regards Datamatrix codes.
But today, thanks to higher performance lasers and the technical search for optimal parameters, we are able to meet manufacturers’ requirements and allow complete traceability by marking components immediately after they leave the die.
In this way, we are able to guarantee readability of the Datamatrix code even after invasive processes such as sandblasting or shot peening.
We have developed multiple solutions at LASIT, both in terms of stand alone systems and automation through in-line laser integration, including 24 systems in the last ten years that provide for loading/unloading during machining, and 5 special stations for integration in robotic cells, whose strength is productivity resulting from cooperation with the robot.
